So on Tuesday Aubrey and I interviewed Mr. Bishop on the essentials to creating and managing your own blog. He was very knowledgeable and threw a lot of ideas at us that we could incorporate into our projects. One of the things that he stressed with us is that we keep a consistent schedule when posting and keep our posts of similar length. Mr. Bishop also reminded me that I would have to be more creative when writing my blog than Aubrey because my topic covers so much material and is harder to show visuals for. Mr. Bishop also accentuated the need to make our blogs interactive through polls, or questions that would allow readers to not only read our opinions but respond with their own opinions. With all this new information I feel confident that I will be able to finish my "Writing" Monday and "Speaking" next Friday. Will keep you updated as I go.

Project Update
This week I finished reading "Rich dad poor dad, I thought it was a good book. I learned a lot of things about investing, for example; you can be very smart but still not know how to handle money. The author's real dad was a highly educated man who held well-paying jobs all his life but never was able to build any wealth. His Rich dad who was not as educated but understood business and investing did become very wealthy. With this contrast the author shows the do's and don'ts of investing. I also spent more time this week on my advice column and have the written up but not posted yet. I feel like I am on schedule to complete the project on time. I have also continued to watch CNBC each day after dinner, which I find informative. I am interviewing Mr. Bishop tomorrow to assist me in improving my new blog. Will keep you updated as I go.

Advice Column
This week I started writing posts for my advice column that will be updated Monday through Friday up until the project deadline. I started writing my first post on Sunday and have subsequently written about Apple, Caterpillar, Bank of America, and Google stock. I haven't decided what stock to pick for Friday but It potential candidates include Pepsi, Proctor & Gamble, and ExxonMobil. At this point you might be saying "well where exactly can I find these quotes because I haven't seen them online and I want to check them out?" To answer that I am still in the process of either creating another blog that will link up to this one or finding another way to share my information but that should be decided at-least in part by the end of the day tomorrow. As of now the only one who has seen my posts is myself but hopefully that will change soon. Right now my posts mainly focus on the topic of wether you should Buy or Sell these stocks but in the future I might branch out into other topics if I have the time. I have also continued with my daily research on "Market Watch" and other websites as well as watching CNBC after dinner daily. Will keep you updated as I go.

Advice Column/Other Work
So far this week has been an eventful one for the Senior Stock Market Guru. I am about 60% through Rich Dad, Poor Dad. It is taking me longer to read this book than Hedge Fund Masters. It is a great book but it's not as interesting as my first book. I also had to make a lot of decisions over how to run my advice column. I already know which stock I am going to write about tomorrow but I have decided to keep it under wraps until I have written my first article. Overall my Reading/ Writing/ Listening/ Thinking objectives are progressing at a steady pace. Even though I haven't done much for my Speaking skill that is too be expected because I'm not scheduled to do any speaking for at least another week. As always ill keep you updated as I go.
Sincerely,
Stock Master Chris

Its Decided
Ok so I finally figured out how to fulfill part of my writing requirement. I plan to do a daily advice column Monday through Friday (When the Stock Market is Open) on what stocks I would suggest buying. Im also about halfway through with Rich Dad Poor Dad. I plan to start my column this coming Monday and in the meantime will pre occupy myself with Reading/Researching. There is also a movie I would really like to see but with all I have to do to prepare for my daily advice column I might not have time this weekend. I believe Ive made a lot of good progress this week and take solace in the fact that I have a plan for the rest of the term.

Senior Sem Stock Market Update 4
Alright one more post! So I also attempted to start writing a paper on the first book I read Hedge Hunters but Im not really sure where to go with it. I mentioned in my proposal that I was going to write an analysis of it but know I understand how vague that terminology really is. So while I was pondering that issue I started reading my second book Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Im barely into it but I think Im making good progress. I will continue to update you as I read and figure out what Im going to do for writing. Hopefully I'll have a revelation in the morning after a good six hour sleep.

Stock Market Movie
I spent my Saturday watching Too Big To Fail a movie highlighting the 2008 financial crisis. As the title suggests Too Big Too Fail mainly talks about the theory that some major corporations are so large that if they were to fail it would be disastrous to the entire economy and that they therefore must be bailed out by the government. The movie doesn't fall directly under my Senior Sem project category of "investing" but I believe in order to fully understand the stock market it is crucial to understand any underlying values/scenarios that could have an effect on it. And in this case understanding the importance of the banking sector is crucial if you ever want to invest. I mean most people know that the popping of the housing bubble led to the crisis but does anyone really know why? Anyway it's a little premature to discuss that right now but you can tell I am excited. To be honest I loved the movie and I've already added it to my all time favorite financial movies list. Till next time.

An Epic Collapse in Organization
So.... this weekend I learned a significant amount about organization while trying to manage my own deadlines. I lost internet connection Friday night and without thinking much of it went to sleep thinking I could make two posts the next day. Unfortunately my internet was still not functioning Saturday and before I knew it Sunday had arrived! Knowing that I had screwed up pretty badly I decided I was obligated to at-least communicate to my teachers so they didn't think I was slacking off. Luckily Ive learned my lesson and Im excited to start the week off anew. The next two posts that I make will highlight what I did this weekend and should be right after this one so don't be intimidated if you see 3 Senior Sem Stock Market posts in a row.. After reading this though I'm sure you'll understand why I've done so.

Stock Market Adventure
For the last couple of days I have been reworking my proposal to nail down what I want to accomplish by the end of the term. To keep myself moving along with my project I started reading my first book Hedge Hunters by Katherine Burton. I am happy to report that by the time I go to bed tonight I should be finished with my first book. Currently my other books have been ordered and should be delivered soon. Overall I think Im off to a great start. Will keep you updated as more information comes in.
Sincerely,
Christopher Bernhardt (aka the Investment Guru)
